Softbrick is a temporal software problem that causes a mobile phone to continuously switch on and off itself. This phenomenon is also known as Boot Loop. And can be easily fixed by a hard reset or, in an extreme case, flashing appropriate firmware on the phone.
Hardbrick is an extreme phase of a softbrick. In this phase, the phone becomes totally inoperable and nearly completely inaccessible. Except you have access to specific unbrick tools and unbrick files specific for that particular phone variant, it is impossible to fix a phone in a hard-bricked state.
